FC Barcelona won the first leg of Copa Del Rey semi final against Valencia and took the lead of 1-0 before the second leg begins. The match was considered as one sided but Barcelona somehow pulled the victory. Barcelona controlled the game and possession in the first half but failed to score.
Barcelona attempted 438 passes in the first half (79% possession), 324 more than Valencia (114, 21%). This shows the domination of the Blaugrana side. However, the performance demanded by Barcelona was not upto the mark as everyone expected.
In the second half, it was much of a open game as Valencia tried couple more times to score the goal but it was Barcelona who kept on testing the Valencia defense and their goal keeper. However, It was Luis Suarez who finally scored the first and only goal for FC Barcelona last night from Lionel Messi’s cross.
The overall performance of the team was not quite upto the mark. Here’s a look at players individual rating from the first leg against Valencia in CDR.
Jasper Cillessen – 6/10
This season Jasper has started every game for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey and put up a very good performance but the game last night against Valencia was the one where he wasn’t tested much. But his ball distrubution under pressure situation was very good and he also made an excellent tackle on Santi Mina.
