Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and the five-time Ballon d’Or award winner stated in a recent interview about how good it has been for him and how heartened he is by sharing the Ballon d’Or rivalry with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Ronaldo who hasn’t been in best of form since the beginning of this season is having a hard time as he recently got injured.
The Portuguese star scored 2 goals in his last game but left the pitch as his face was full of blood. Ronaldo has been one of the most consistent footballers in the world alongside Lionel Messi. The rivalry between these two players isn’t hidden from anyone.
Since the arrival of Ronaldo at Madrid, The footballing world always kept on debating on who is the best player in the world between him and Lionel Messi. This is easily the hottest topic in the last 10 years or so.
Meanwhile, Both players respect each other a lot as they revealed how good one forces another to get better. Ronaldo has won four of the past five and told Chinese football app Dongqiudi he is heartened by his duopoly with Messi as opposed to it being a source of frustration.
“To be honest, I never thought I’d win one Ballon d’Or or two, and certainly not five. So, if I can’t win the Ballon d’Or in the future, I’ll still feel so, so, so, proud of myself,” Ronaldo said, in quotes reported by AS.

Ronaldo also stated how badly he wants to keep on winning individual awards and trophies for his team. “Of course, my ambition is to win more individual awards and trophies with the team, but I won’t be obsessed with the Ballon d’Or.
“It’s good to have shared the award with Messi over the past few years. It’s good to share this award with a great player. “I feel good, I’m very satisfied with my career, but I’ll keep working hard,” said Ronaldo.
Currently, The Madrid team is having a rough patch and so is Ronaldo. Real Madrid got knocked out in Copa Del Rey and them are most likely not to win the La Liga this season. A tough trip to Valencia awaits on Saturday which is another big game for the Los Blancos.
“I have to prepare myself to stay at the elite level,” Ronaldo explained. “For me, age isn’t so important if you look after your body and mind, do the right things and work in the right way, with care.” said the Portuguese International.
“Age isn’t important. These last two years have been the most successful of my career, 2017 was a great year and shows that age really isn’t the most important thing. Said Cristiano.
“I’m happy and can carry on for a long time yet. I’m keen to work, to enjoy working with people, winning trophies. I’m good, I’m ready for a few more years.” stated Ronaldo.
